A calling and welcoming to all metalheads and others in the region and elsewhere!

The month of March is full of fantastic metal events within the metalsouth region. Very much worth highlighting are a couple of happenings, for which we have secured tickets, will enjoy and cover. As usual, we will do our best to pass on the positive energy via a few lines and some photos. Darkane prepares for a South America Tour during March 2023. The band takes the opportunity to give local fans a taste of what will be delivered down there. This summer in Grytan was really awesome.

Meshuggah and the Halo Effect, 31 March 2023, Sparbanken Skåne Arena, Lund, Sweden

After more than 6 years we will have a chance to see Meshuggah during the Immutable Tour 2023 and this time in Lund. The band’s brutal style and fantastic live show puts them in the absolute world top of the heavy metal genre. Some memories from last time comes to mind including heave snow, rain and wind. It was a hassle to get there, described in a post from that fantastic evening.

Meshuggah presents a special guest, the super metal group The Halo Effect, which was formed during the pandemic 2020 by a couple of friends of the Swedish West coast. Band members are normally connected to metal mega groups Dark Tranquility and In Flames. Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquility is also lead singer of The Halo Effect. Support will be given by Orbit Culture (Eksjö, SE) and Scar Symmetry (Avesta, SE). This evening can’t get wrong with so many giants performing from the same stage.

March will be full of great musical events in the metalsouth region, which will create happy memories. If you’re in the neighbourhood, get tickets and get there. Helltown Outdoors goes Indoors

Joakim Johnn is the initiator of Helltown Outdoors, which took place in Helsingborg/Grytan on 21 July this passed summer. Local metal bands performed this wonderful and tropically heated day and evening. metalsouth was there!! Now Helltown Indoors moves Indoors to the Tivoli in Helsingborg. Tomorrow at 17.30 the gates open and the bands Humanity’s Last Breath, Kill the Kong, Ghost Iris, Chine and the metalsouth favorite Darkane will perform. Just be there, folks! But what happened to the base player in Mörbultad at Helltown Outdoors??…more to come at metalsouth.

Borgholm In Flames!

An upcoming event worth mentioning and including a strong recommendation to visit is the Swedish melodic death metal pioneers In Flames hosting of a two day festival in the castle ruins of Borgholm on Öland (SE). It takes place 27-28th July 2018.

The Festival name is ‘Borgholm Brinner’ and the list of artists is really impressive! The artists are with In Flames hosting and ending both evenings also Refused (SE), Raised Fist (SE), Graveyard (SE), Danko Jones (CA), Satyricon (NO), Dark Tranquility (SE), Come Back Kid (CA) and Tribulation (SE). Refused and Danko Jones are already covered in earlier metalsouth posts.

Refused, Swedish hardcore from Umeå, creates some tension before the gig tonight with one of the best albums of 2015, Freedom (Epitaph Europe, 2015). We look forward to this evening and send warm welcomes to Refused!!

To make it completely clear…Black Temple (Helsingborg) and In Flames (Gothenburg) plays at KB, Malmö, tonight October 22 and tomorrow October 23, 2015. Danko Jones – back in Helsingborg!

Another easy post…it’s Wednesday today and we all look forward much to visit the Tivoli in Helsingborg on Friday October 16, 2015. The latest visit was on October 25, 2013, when Danko Jones’ 3 man band sold the Tivoli out. The prospect is that the same scenario will be also this time for this Sweden friendly, podcaster, writer in Close-Up Magazine and phenomenal rock’n’roller.

Black Temple on tour!

Easy post…Black Temple is on the Europen part of its tour together with melodic death metal giants In Flames (Gothenburg) and the dates are listed below. What can we say than just…get your tickets. We will meet up at a sold out KB, Malmö, SE, on Friday 23/10/15.

I have a feeling that work tomorrow will be light, fun and easy. This will be the day when it all comes together!

Black Temple is support to The Sword at KB, Malmö, starts at 7:00 p.m. The Band releases it’s second record ‘It All Ends’ (Century Media Records 2015). We have tickets and we will buy records!!

The Sword just released a new album ‘High Country’ on August 21 (Razor & Tie, 2015) and Soilwork will also release a new and praised album ‘The Ride Majestic’ on August 28 (Nuclear Blast, 2015).

It will be a just fantastic Friday and we hope to see many good metal friends at KB, Malmö. The ticket price is only SEK 250 and we cannot see a more priceworthy Friday evening event! 3 great album releases with a definite follow up later by metalsouth.

Metalsouth is proud to list a couple of upcoming events, which will be covered.

AC/DC at the Friends Arena in Solna/Stockholm on Sunday July 19, 2015.

AC/DC established in 1973 the year when it all started. After the latest Black Ice Tour in 2009/10 I saw them three times. In Paris, in Gothenburg and in Stockholm. This time the intention is to also give our daughter the right schooling. The two sons had a heart thrilling experience together with my sister, brother, myself and 54.000 more in Gothenburg in June 2009. Now even my wife is forced to take the basic course in the right kind of music. Rock or Bust!!

Soilwork release of a new album ‘The Ride Majestic’ (Nuclear Blast Records) on August 28, 2015.

Black Temple release of a new album ‘It All Ends (Razzia Notes Scandinavia Century Media Europe) on August 28, 2015. Also being support to The Sword at KB, Malmö, on the same day.

Black Temple supports Melodic Death Metal Giants In Flames from Gothenburg at KB, Malmö, on October 23, 2015. The support will be on all Scandinavian dates of the In Flames Tour! Magic!! We’re sure it will not end by this…the sky’s now the limit, guys!!

Soilwork plays at KB, Malmö, and kicks off the new tour on November 27, 2015.

The listed events are all covered by metalsouth in presence and listening, which will mean a few more and hopefully interesting posts.

…there is also a rumour that Entombed A.D. will play in Gothenburg and Stockholm in January 2016…

A hectic, but very thrillling fall of 2015 followed by a great start of 2016.
